Americares India is delighted to announce the Launch of Project Parivartan: The Goa Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention & Control Initiative, a CSR initiative of Pfizer, in partnership with the Goa Medical College and Hospital and Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa.
The project aims to address Antimicrobial resistance and reduce hospital acquired infections in all 39 public health facilities of Goa.

Stamford, Conn. – June 6, 2024 – Americares, the health-focused relief and development organization, has welcomed Chandrashekar V.S. as director of Americares India. In his new role, Chandrashekar, known personally and professionally as Chandra, is responsible for designing, implementing and directing innovative health programs that strengthen health systems and expand access to care for people affected by poverty or disaster across 23 states in India.

Americares India staff will begin treating survivors of Cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat in an effort to provide care to an estimated 2,000 survivors of the storm, which caused widespread flooding and forced families from their homes.
