Kerala, India
As families return to their flood-ravaged homes from the relief camps, Americares is conducting health camps and providing supplies of essentials to 12,000 families. This includes health & hygiene kits, access to safe drinking water, resting kits & vector kits. In addition, nutritional support will be given to children under 5 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers, so they remain healthy through this time of crisis.
Medical stocks at many health centres in Kerala are washed out due to the flooding. To meet the surge in demand for health services, there is an immediate need for medicines and supplies. There is also a need to send medical teams to remote villages to treat ailing survivors.
At least 400 Health Centers have been impacted due to the floods. Partnering with pharmaceutical partners, we are mobilizing medicine donations to the government centres and hospitals. Following assessment of the needs of hospitals & health centres, Americares will provide equipment, safe water, along with support for infection prevention, repair & refurbishment, as well as other identified areas.
For us to continue our relief efforts, we need your support. Show you care by sharing this post and donating to Americares India today.
