As part of AmeriCares India's work with many dedicated partners, we established in 2010 the “Spirit of Humanity Awards” to recognize individuals and organizations doing exemplary work in healthcare among the disadvantaged in India.  

In addition to honoring outstanding work in healthcare, the Awards event is an opportunity to showcase the best practices undertaken by these pioneers.  With less than 7% of NGOs in India working in the healthcare sector, it also raises awareness of various health care issues in India and encourages others to focus on healthcare challenges.

AmeriCares is an international nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, working in 147 countries over the last 28 years.

For more than seventeen years, AmeriCares has delivered aid to the people of India in response to natural disasters and ongoing humanitarian crises. In carrying out this mission, we have worked closely with state governments and leading nonprofit organizations to provide more than $50 million worth of life-saving medicines, medical supplies and medical aid over this time.
