AmeriCares launched operations in India in 2006 with the establishment of an office in Mumbai and a warehouse in Bhiwandi.  The warehouse is licensed by the Indian Food and Drug Administration and maintains international standards for handling pharmaceuticals.  With on the ground staff, an increased supply of donated medicines, and a strategically located distribution hub, AmeriCares has expanded its work in-country and is better positioned to serve the surrounding regions of Asia and Africa.

AmeriCares has delivered more than $47 million worth of critical medicines and supplies to India to date – a figure that continues to grow significantly with the establishment of a local presence. In the past year, AmeriCares India donated products directly to 42 health care institutions in over 15 states. Through strong partnerships with local governmental and nongovernmental organizations AmeriCares supports clinics, schools, hospitals and rural health organizations and responds to emergencies wherever and whenever they occur.

AmeriCares partnerships with local health care providers range from NGOs serving rural communities to municipal school systems providing nutritional support.  Partners supported by AmeriCares are addressing a wide range of health care needs from primary health care, to acute illness, chronic disease, malnutrition and emergency response.

Job Description:

The Partnership Coordinator maintains and develops relationships with AmeriCares India medical assistance partner organizations.  The Partnership Coordinator leads the inventory management process by offering product donations, and responsibly allocating limited inventory amongst existing partners.  S/he will ensure that AmeriCares India partnership standards are upheld by obtaining required reporting materials, maintaining up-to-date partner records, and making periodic site visits.  The Partnership Coordinator will also produce donor feedback for AmeriCares India to utilize in resource acquisition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Partnership Coordination, Monitoring and Oversight

  1. Develop and maintain a shared understanding of expectations with each medical assistance partner, including nature and volume of product donations, impact on partner organization of product donations, AmeriCares India policies and standards, partner capabilities.
  2. Effectively manage inventory by conducting product donation offers, allocating available stock in consultation with Partnership Manager, and building medical assistance dispatches within inventory database.
  3. Enhance systematic data capture and collection; organization and presentation of information; and standardized reporting to effectively and efficiently manage AmeriCares India medical assistance partnerships.
  4. Prepare reports and analysis of partner feedback, including distribution analysis, case studies, and programmatic feedback.
  5. Ensure regular communication with partners and make efforts to provide timely, meaningful requests and responses to same.
  6. As needed, support AmeriCares India operations broadly by assisting with tasks outside of Partnership Coordinator responsibilities

  • Medical assistance partnership oversight
  • Effective inventory and information management
  • Proficient reporting on product utilization and partner activities
  • Thorough execution of all tasks required to maintain integrity and effectiveness of AmeriCares India
  • Travel, as required, to conduct partner assessments and data collection in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with related work/study experience preferred with concentration in a relevant field including, but not limited to, political science, sociology, non-profit management, medicine, etc.
    • Health-related background (medical/pharma/public health) preferred;
  • Fluent in English and Hindi;
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel);
  • Effective writing skills;
  • Strong organization skills; attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communications skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with a balanced focus on personal accountability and team goals
