Organization Information:

AmeriCares is an international relief organization whose passion to help is matched by an ability to deliver.  Whether it's an epic disaster or a daily struggle, AmeriCares goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure that medicines, medical supplies and aid reaches individuals in need wherever they are, whenever they need it.  In a quarter of a century, we have delivered more than $9 Billion of aid to 147 countries.

AmeriCares launched operations in India in 2006 with the establishment of an office in Mumbai and a warehouse in Bhiwandi.  The warehouse is licensed by the Indian Food and Drug Administration and maintains international standards for handling pharmaceuticals.  With on the ground staff, an increased supply of donated medicines, and a strategically located distribution hub, AmeriCares has expanded its work in-country and is better positioned to serve the surrounding regions of Asia and Africa.

AmeriCares has delivered more than $47 million worth of critical medicines and supplies to India to date – a figure that continues to grow significantly with the establishment of a local presence. In the past year, AmeriCares India donated products directly to 42 health care institutions in over 15 states. Through strong partnerships with local governmental and nongovernmental organizations AmeriCares supports clinics, schools, hospitals and rural health organizations and responds to emergencies wherever and whenever they occur.

AmeriCares partnerships with local health care providers range from NGOs serving rural communities to municipal school systems providing nutritional support.  Partners supported by AmeriCares are addressing a wide range of health care needs from primary health care, to acute illness, chronic disease, malnutrition and emergency response.
